Alzheimer’s Association – Longest Day – June 21st

The Alzheimer’s Association’s 2nd largest campaign … The Longest Day … is June 21st.

Long DayThe Longest Day is a team event to raise funds and awareness for the Alzheimer’s Association®. Held annually on the summer solstice, the duration of this sunrise-to-sunset event symbolizes the challenging journey of those living with the disease and their caregivers.

The hope is that people build teams and do something all day to show how long a caregiver’s day is.  The day is typically to honor someone with Alzheimer’s or a dementia and each team will raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association.

Teams are encouraged to create their own experience as they fundraise and participate in an activity they love to honor someone facing the disease.

Start a team, join a team, spread the word, and/or donate, even if it is $10 every little bit helps. Ideas can be simple, playing any type of game, golf, running, baking all day, etc.

If you would like to start a team, contact Mel Larkin (her husband has FTD), 860-828-2828, at the Alzheimer’s Association, or click here for more information.
